(Senior) Program Officer (m/f/d) - Transatlantic Program
(Full-time (40 hours/week) | Berlin | 01.01.2027 - 31.12.2027 (with intention to extend)

Starting January 1, 2027, we are looking for a dedicated full-time Program Officer (m/f/d) (40 hours per week) for the Transatlantic Program at the Aspen Institute Germany. The position is initially limited until December 31, 2027. The main focus of the role will be working on the “U.S.-German Forum Future Agriculture” project.

The Aspen Institute Germany is an international, nonpartisan, and nonprofit institution committed to strengthening a free, open, and just society. Through workshops, conferences, and discussion forums with international stakeholders from politics, business, academia, and culture, it focuses on issues of social responsibility, political leadership, AI, digitalization and media literacy, as well as the environment, sustainability, and social justice. The Transatlantic Program fosters values-based dialogue on the key challenges facing transatlantic relations through a variety of formats.

Initiated by the Aspen Institute Germany in cooperation with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the U.S.-German Forum Future Agriculture aims to foster transatlantic exchange on agriculture and rural communities and contribute to a more sustainable future for agriculture. Each year, the project brings together German and U.S. farmers and key agricultural stakeholders from academia, research, and industry in agriculturally significant regions on both sides of the Atlantic for virtual and in-person exchanges in the United States and Germany. Each cohort focuses on a central theme and develops policy recommendations for the sector. In 2027, the cohort will focus on the agricultural labor market with fruit and vegetable production, with study trips to Davis, California and Bonn, Germany. In addition to working on this project, the position will involve supporting other projects and initiatives of the Transatlantic team, including the podcast “America’s Choice - Der USA Podcast.”
