Purchasing Manager / Purchasing Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery conditions.
  • Manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance, quality, and reliability.
  • Issue purchase orders and oversee the procurement process from request to delivery.
  • Ensure availability of materials, products, and services to support operational requirements.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, cost-saving opportunities, and industry trends.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and service terms.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Operations, Production, Finance, Logistics, and Quality.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and procurement standards.
  • Analyze purchasing data, prepare reports, and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Manage and resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays and quality concerns.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field (preferred).
  • Several years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Fluent German and English skills; additional languages like Chinese and/or Polish are an advantage.
  • Openness and willingness to transition into the company’s Poland-based Purchasing Department in the future are highly desirable.
