Your Tasks

  • Developing and communicating the global aviation strategy to local markets
  • Caboratively developing local underwriting strategies, including pricing, capacity management, product development, and portfolio composition, as well as monitoring implementation through KPIs and regular engagement with branch offices
  • Participating in expert groups on underwriting matters and initiating improvements to frameworks, guidelines, and country-specific rules, as well as conducting local audits and ensuring consistent adherence to standards and governance
  • Monitoring strategic deviations and supporting referral underwriting for aviation in close collaboration with the Global Head
  • Providing benchmarks, insights, and feedback to local underwriters, participating in branch visits, and supporting Lead Underwriters in marketing activities
  • Monitoring profit center performance and supporting KPI target-setting, conducting portfolio segmentation to identify profit drivers and weak areas, and advising on planning processes as well as steering tools and methodology
  • Collaborating across functions including Claims, Market Management, Controlling, Legal, Reinsurance and other teams, promoting knowledge sharing and alignment between branches and functions, and supporting the claims team on major claims
  • Identifying training needs in underwriting and contributing to the development of training content, supporting mentoring, expert groups, secondments, and broader knowledge sharing
Your Profile
  • Completed training as an insurance and finance clerk with further qualification as an insurance specialist or insurance business administrator, or a completed degree in economics, engineering, natural sciences, law, or a comparable qualification
  • Solid background in underwriting, with broad market and risk understanding
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and steer performance data
  • Strategic mindset with experience in strategy development, implementation and supporting change processes
  • Experience working with guidelines, governance, or audit processes
  • Ability to drive alignment and ensure consistent application of standards across teams and locations
  • Comfortable working in an international environment with regular virtual and physical interaction across multiple locations
  • Deep understanding of matrix organizations and international coordination, enabling effective steering in global environments
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate across cultures and functions
  • Innovative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Very good written and spoken English skills
