As part of our Portfolio Management & M&A team, you will work at the intersection of strategy, investments, and operational performance. You’ll support the entire investment lifecycle - from origination and deal execution to value creation within our portfolio companies.
Value Creation & Portfolio Support
- Support Operating Partners and portfolio company teams on targeted value creation initiatives
- Develop a deep understanding of company strategies, market dynamics, and competitive positioning
- Analyze operating and financial performance across the portfolio
- Build driver-based operating and valuation models (DCF, LBO, CCA/CTA) to assess impact on equity value and returns
- Prepare high-quality analyses and materials for investment committees and senior leadership
M&A Origination & Execution
- Contribute to pipeline development: build target lists, conduct market and competitor analyses, and develop investment theses
- Support M&A processes end-to-end (buy-side, sell-side, and bolt-ons) - from origination to closing
- Perform transaction-specific valuations and returns analyses
- Coordinate workstreams across internal teams, banks, consultants, and law firms
- Prepare decision-grade presentations and materials for management and external stakeholders
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking (M&A), Private Equity/Venture Capital, Strategy Consulting, or Transaction Services/Financial Due Diligence (strong internship track record also considered)
- Strong interest in business models, competitive dynamics, and market structures
- Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with data sources such as Capital IQ, FactSet, and broker research
- Structured, hands-on approach and strong process discipline under time pressure
- Confident communicator with the ability to present clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders
- Fluent in English and German
- Team player with good judgment, curiosity, and a self-starter mindset - respectful, pragmatic, and eager to learn
- Hybrid working setup at our Duisburg Campus (regional presence required; not suitable for full remote or long-distance commuting)
- Regular travel to portfolio companies and external advisors

Deine RolleWe are seeking a visionary and hands-on Head of Internal Audit (m/f/d) to lead and evolve the internal audit function at FHC. In this strategic role, you will provide independent assurance and advisory to the Management Board and Audit Committee on governance, risk management, and internal controls.
You will report functionally to the CFO and the Chair of the Audit Committee, ensuring organizational independence. This is a unique opportunity to shape the internal audit landscape in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment with high visibility and impact from day one.

- Lead risk-based audit planning and execution across the organization
- Evaluate and enhance risk management, compliance, and control frameworks

- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, and Leadership Team on on risk mitigation strategies and internal control improvements as well as emerging risks
- Ensure adherence to professional standards (e.g., GIAS, IDW PS 983)
- Master’s degree in finance, auditing, business law, or related field
- 15+ years of relevant experience, including leadership in internal audit and Big Four background
- Recognized certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, CRMA) preferred
- Strong executive presence and communication skills
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive strategic initiatives
- Deep expertise in risk-based auditing and internal control systems
- Fluent in German and English
- High integrity, analytical mindset, and entrepreneurial spirit
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working across cultures and time zones
- Willingness to travel (up to 30%)
