Als Backend Engineer (w/m/d) Elektrotechnik wirst du Teil eines Ingenieurs-Teams mit starker Kompetenz in den Bereichen Elektrotechnik / Energietechnik, Softwareentwicklung, Datenbanken und Softwarearchitektur. Zusammen mit dem Team treibst du Themen im Bereich Energiesystem-Modellierung, elektrotechnischer / mathematischer Modelle und Algorithmen. So hast du einen direkten Einfluss auf die Nutzererfahrung unserer Kunden, unsere Organisation und Entwicklungsmethoden.

• Du bist Teil eines funktionsübergreifenden Teams (Backend-, Frontend- und DevOps-Entwickler, Design- und Produktmanager) und entwickelst fortschrittliche Anwendungen im Bereich der Energietechnik, die einen direkten Nutzen für unsere Kunden generieren.
• Du konzipierst, verbesserst und implementierst energietechnische Abläufe und mathematische Solver in unserer Plattform, dem aktuellen Stand der Technik und „Best Practices“ folgend.
• Du bist Teil der Konzeptionierung und Entwicklung professioneller Backend-Lösungen, um unser Produkt kontinuierlich in einem agilen Umfeld zusammen mit anderen Squads weiter zu verbessern.

Das bringst du mit

• Du hast einen Hintergrund in elektrischer Energietechnik, einem nah verwandten Gebiet der Ingenieurswissenschaften oder einen starken mathematischen Fokus (z.B. Maschinenbau, angewandte / technische Informatik, technische Physik, …) und hast großes Interesse dein Wissen im Bereich der elektrischen Energietechnik und Berechnungsmechanismen für Energiesysteme kontinuierlich auszubauen.
• Du bist ein Teamplayer und arbeitest leidenschaftlich gerne mit talentierten und inspirierenden Menschen zusammen.
• Du bist auf der Suche nach technischen Herausforderungen und stolz darauf, wenn du intelligente und kreative Lösungen findest.
• Du hast Erfahrung mit Python und ggf. anderen Programmiersprachen wie C++, Go oder Rust, idealerweise im Kontext der elektrischen Energietechnik und mathematischen Algorithmen.
• Du bist mit Teilen unseres Tech Stacks vertraut und freust dich darauf, mit den aktuellen Best Practices der Branche Schritt zu halten.
• Du hast eine Leidenschaft für Softwareentwicklung und hast großes Interesse daran, dich in einem Großteil deiner Arbeitszeit mit der (Weiter-) Entwicklung moderner Software zu beschäftigen.
• Du verfügst über verhandlungssichere Englischkenntnisse (Niveau C1).

As Backend Engineer (f/m/d) Electrical Engineering you will be part of an engineering squad with strong knowledge of electrical engineering, coding, databases, and software architecture. Together, you drive the topics surrounding electrical power system engineering and electrical/mathematical models and algorithms, have an impact on the experience of our users, our organization, and our engineering practices.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• You are part of a cross-functional department and team (backend, frontend, DevOps developers, design and product owner) and develop state of the art electrical engineering related applications which bring effective customer value
• You design, enhance and implement electrical engineering workflows and mathematical solvers in accordance with the current state of technology and best practices
• You are part of the conceptualizing and developing of professional backend solutions to continuously evolve our product in an agile working environment together with the other cross-functional squads in the engineering department

What you need to succeed

• You have a background in electrical engineering, a closely related engineering field or have a strong mathematical background (e.g. mechanical energy engineering, applied computer science, engineering physics, …) and are highly interested in extending your knowledge in the field of electrical engineering and calculations for power systems continuously
• You are a team player and passionate about working with talented and inspiring people
• You are looking for technical challenges and pride yourself in finding smart and creative solutions
• You have experience with Python and possibly other programming languages like C++, Go or Rust, ideally in the context of electrical engineering and mathematical algorithms
• You are eager and passionate about writing state of the art software as major part of your daily work
• You are business-fluent in English (Level C1)
• Ideally you are familiar with parts of our tech stack, with current software design principles and are looking forward to keeping up with current industry best practices
